Localisation docs for everyone else

The Localisation Team supports requests from tech, design, and product. If you work for another part of the business, here's how you can get support.

External Localisation Agencies

If your team is not part of the Tech org, there are 2 Localisation agencies that you can get in touch with if you need localisation support. These agencies are:

  • RWS: Agency specialising in legal, internal comms, marketing, macros, e-learning and video translation.
  • Hogarth: Agency specialising in transcreation. Can support creative assets such as TV/Print ads, emails headers.

At the moment, we already have a process in place when working with RWS. You can find more details below.

The Consumer Marketing team has run an RFP and partnered with Hogarth for localisation support of some marketing campaigns. If you need further advice on how to work with Hogarth, please contact Amanda Nunez (amanda.nunez@deliveroo.co.uk).

How to request translations from RWS

1. Prepare your request

  • Is the document final?
  • Is it an editable version?
  • Are there any images or graphs? Do these need to translated too?

2. Write your brief

The easiest way to do this is by filling out the this form

Alternatively you can write your own brief. Keep in mind that this is an external agency and they won't have the same degree of context as you do. So make sure that your brief includes:

  • The languages you need (if unsure, you can check with the localisation team).
  • Your turnaround time, especially if you need something urgently.
  • A link to your document. Also make sure they have access.
  • Some context such as what is the document, e.g. is it terms, a manual, a deck? Who's the target audience, e.g contract to restaurants, employees...?
  • PO: if you have an open PO with them, please add it in your brief.

3. Email your request to RWS

Use the email Deliveroo.PJMs@sdl.com and cc Cristina (cristina.marin@deliveroo.co.uk).

4. RWS will send you a quote

5. You need to accept or reject the quote

6. Raise a PO

If you accept the quote, you need to raise a PO on Procurement Hub. RWS will not be able to start the work until this step is completed. Note that RWS is registered as "SDL Sheffield Limited" on Procurement Hub.

Some teams have open POs with RWS, so you might want to check if this applies to your team before completing this step.

7. Confirmation from RWS

RWS will now confirm the timelines. Keep an eye on your email while the translations are in progress, as RWS may get in touch in case they have any questions about the content.

If anything is unclear, feel free to reach out to the localisation team in our Slack channel #localisation-team
